Graphische Sammlung ETH Zürich

Zürich, Switzerland
Founded in 1867 as a university study and teaching collection, the Graphische Sammlung ETH Zürich is one of Switzerland's most important repositories of works on paper, spanning from the 15th century to the present day. While widely recognized for Old Master and Western modern graphic art, the collection holds a significant and historically valuable body of Asian graphic works—primarily Japanese woodblock prints (ukiyo-e) and illustrated books—offering scholars and visitors deep insights into cross-cultural printmaking, linear composition, and the European Japonisme movement.
