Located within the historic 15th-century Real Monasterio de Santo Tomás—originally constructed under the patronage of the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella—the Museo de Arte Oriental represents the cultural and evangelical history of the Dominican Order in Asia. The museum preserves extensive artistic and ethnographic collections gathered by Dominican missionaries stationed across East and Southeast Asia beginning in the late 16th century.
