Museo Nacional de Arte Oriental

Buenos Aires, Argentina
Established in 1965 by decree of the national government, the Museo Nacional de Arte Oriental is Argentina’s sole public institution dedicated entirely to the art, culture, and material heritage of Asian civilizations. Originally housed in the historic Palacio Errázuriz (alongside the National Museum of Decorative Arts) and built upon significant private bequests and diplomatic gifts, the museum reopened in a dedicated, state-of-the-art permanent venue inside the historic Centro Cultural Borges in late 2022, expanding its role as a key Latin American center for dialogue with Asian visual culture.
