Vang Hai Hung

From the Giay ethnic group - an ethnic minority from the mountainous Northwest region (Lao Cai) of Vietnam, Vang Hai Hung initially attended the Forestry University, but then dropped out and entered the Vietnam University of Fine Arts.

Growing up in a rural, mountainousarea close to the border of China,Hung accumulated personal experiences about the cultural life of the highland ethnic identity - or what was very normal for him, but not for most people. This gives him, unintentionally an advantage.

The main subjects in Hung's artworks are workers, livestock, poultry and all that is small in a large society or urban area. Hung observes and redraws everything with a sincere heart – and the results are realistic but conceptual artworks.

Looking at Hung's paintings, many people see criticism and irony about urban, economic and human growth of contemporary society and the destruction of the natural environment. However, is it possible that the artist himself does not think so?
